Feared loss of customer
If you have an invoice where the whole, or part of, the principal amount remains and you suspect that it might never be paid, you can use the built-in feature Write down.

This only affects your bookkeeping and the invoice will not look any different to the customer. If the customer pays the invoice, it will be handled the same way as any other payment on an invoice and the books will be automatically corrected.

Confirmed customer loss
Do you have an invoice where you know that the customer cannot pay you can use the function Confirmed Customer Loss. This will end the invoice and the remaining amount on the invoice will be marked as confirmed customer loss in your bookkeeping. If your customer opens the web invoice they will see the invoice as ended.

Good to know: Even if the invoice is ended when you change it to confirmed customer loss your customer can pay the invoice. However, in the bookkeeping, it will be registered as a normal payment and is currently not bookkept as recovered customer loss.
